Overview
- Minolta knows that no two small businesses have the same
copying needs or financial considerations. That's why Minolta
designed the EP2030 copier to be flexible enough so you can design
your own copier, to your own business specifications and always
receive the same high quality you've come to expect from Minolta.
Start with a copier that offers built-in features like two
250-sheet paper drawers, zoom ratios from 50 to 200% in increments
of one-tenth of 1%, and auto shutoff. Then customize it by adding
options like an automatic document feeder, duplexing cabinet and
10-bin stapler/sorter. All this and our exclusive Micro-Toning and
auto toner density control systems for copies that are clean and
crisp. The possibilities are almost endless. But the results are
all the same a copier that offers high quality; reliable,
economic operation; maximum efficiency and productivity.
A simple-to-use 0-9 keypad allows the user to enter the number of
copies to be made during a copy job. Up to 99 copies can be
selected.
This function allows reduction and enlargement of a document to any
setting from 50-200% in 1/10th of 1% increments. Three preset
reduction and three preset enlargement ratios are provided. Press
the up arrow once for legal>letter (78.5%), twice for 11 x
17>letter (64.7%), and again for 50% reduction. Press the up
arrow once for legal>11 x 17 (121.4%), twice for letter>11 x
17 (129.4%), and again for 200%.
The image density of the copy can be adjusted in any of these
modes: Auto Exposure, Manual, or Photo Mode. Auto Exposure analyzes
the image density of the original and automatically adjusts the
exposure level. By pressing the arrow keys, you can manually vary
the exposure levels in nine steps. For reproducing images such as
photographs, select the Photo mode. You can further vary the image
density of the photo image by selecting one of the nine levels.
When activated, this feature will automatically search out the
proper paper size to match your original. APS on the EP2030 is
available only through the document feeder. By touching this key,
you can also manually select the copy paper you desire. The display
will identify the paper sources available, whether they are
invoice, letter, legal, or 11 x 17. If multiple paper sources
contain the same paper size, Auto Drawer Switching will take
effect. Should a long copy job deplete the current paper source,
the EP2030 will automatically search out a paper source with the
same paper size and orientation.
The Original>Copy display allows you to select your original
copy mode, including 2 in 1 feed, mixed original detection and
margin selection.
Several selections are available, depending on the original, the
desired output, and the copier configuration. Selections include:
1>2; 2>1; 2>2; 1>(2 in 1) and 1>2 (2 in 1);
book>1 and book>2. If you are using originals of mixed size,
you can select Mixed Original detection.
The EP2030 allows three selections for finishing: sort, sort &
staple, and group. In order to sort or group documents, the copier
must be equipped with the S-106. To sort & staple requires the
use of the ST-104. The bin capacity for both S-106 and ST-104 is 25
sheets, sorted and/or stapled.
To automatically reduce or enlarge a single image or group of
images to correctly fit onto a specified paper size, select the
Auto Size mode. This feature will select the best zoom setting
according to the size of the original and the copy paper size
selected for use.
Select this function when you wish to copy pages from a bound book
or magazine. Simply position the book or magazine face down on the
copier platen with the spine aligned with the book symbol. The
EP2030 will scan each side of the book and place each onto a single
sheet of paper, or on both sides of one sheet if the machine is
equipped to duplex.
This feature allows you to insert a cover page for your multi-page
document. The paper used for Cover mode is stored in the multiple
bypass tray.
Should condensation build up on the photoconductor, a condition
that can occur in high humidity environments or when the room
temperature changes rapidly, this mode dries the drum. By preparing
the surface of the drum to receive a normal charge, Minolta copiers
can deliver top quality copies despite adverse installation
environments.
The copier will enter an energy saving mode automatically. As part
of Energy Star compliance, the EP2030 will power down after a
certain period of non-use. The default from the factory is 15
minutes, but the timing can be easily adjusted from 1 to 98
minutes, or at 240 minutes, in the User's Choice mode.
By touching this key, the user can interrupt the current copy job
to perform another. If the job being interrupted involves sort,
group, or staple/sort, only non-sort may be used for the new
job.
One copy job can be stored in memory. Once you have selected the
desired functions from the control panel, simply press the job
input key to store the selections. When you wish to use the job
stored, touch the job memory key.
The EP2030 provides a 1/2 file margin along the leading edge of a
copy. This allows you to add a margin to a document, for easy
filing in a three ring binder. Your document can be either
single-sided or two-sided.
The EP2030 keeps track of the total number of copies made since
installation and the number of copies made on a paper size
determined by the technician.
This is a quick and efficient way to recover the superior image
density offered by the EP2030. Activate this function when the
copier produces images that are too light.
During the warm-up procedure, the control panel may be set up for a
copy job, the document feeder loaded with the appropriate
originals, and the start button depressed. When the copier is
ready, the job will begin automatically.
This function allows you to sort sets with 26 or more originals.
When 5 or fewer sets are made from an original set consisting of
more than 25 originals, sorter bins 1 through 5 are filled with the
first 25 copies, and the extra copies up to 25 more per bin are
then placed in bins 6 through 10.
The auto reset function, if activated in User Choice mode, will
reset the control panel when no activity has occurred during a
determined length of time. You can choose an inactivity duration of
either 30 seconds or 60 seconds, or you can choose to de-activate
this function.
Through the User Choice mode, you can adjust the Auto Shut-off
timing. The initial setting will auto shut-off after 60 minutes of
non-use. However, you can select any time between 1-98 minutes, 240
minutes, or no Auto Shut-off at all.
When more than one original is detected by the automatic document
feeder, the copier will automatically activate sort mode.
The copier keeps track of the originals it uses should a misfeed
occur during the copy process. If a misfeed occurs, the control
panel will inform the user how many originals to reposition in the
feeder in order to resume the copy job once the misfeed is
removed.
Originals are loaded one at a time into the Semi-Automatic Document
Feeder input tray of the ADF or RADF. The EP2030 automatically
initiates the copy cycle when an original is detected in the SADF
feed area.
