With this software option, the XSR's aggregate VPN throughput and tunnel capacity are significantly higher than competitive offerings. The VPN software delivers seamless VPN interoperability with standards-based VPN gateways, as well as Microsoft Windows XP and Windows 2000 clients. The software's flexibility is further demonstrated through its support of a rich suite of VPN protocols for both site-to-site and remote access communications. An industry-standard CLI and the Ez-IPSec remote VPN configuration tool increase customers' return on investment by lowering training, management and installation costs. Comprehensive network and device management is accomplished via SNMP management, future NetSight Atlas support, front-panel LEDs, an out-of-band management port and a recessed "restore factory default switch".
