Overview
The imageRUNNER 5000 delivers
copy, print, and scan output at 50 pages-per-minute, and is
designed to meet the needs of large workgroups and corporate
departments. The imageRUNNER 5000 is ideally suited to replace
existing analog technology, and is fully upgradeable to support
network printing and scanning. Standard features include 4,150
sheets of on-line paper capacity, a maximum recommended duty cycle
of 200,000 impressions per month, trayless duplexing, and a
100-page Automatic Document Feeder. When equipped with optional
finishing equipment, the imageRUNNER 5000 has no equal.
Every imageRUNNER 5000 is
equipped with an internal 5.1GB Image Server. The Image Server
hosts a number of unique applications for customers with mid-volume
output requirements. These applications include Job Build,
Chapterization, Scan-Once-Print-Many, Automatic Image Orientation,
Confidential User Mailboxes, Automatic Booklet-making, and Copy
Reservation.

The imageRUNNER 5000 features a 50 page-per-minute copy and
print speed and a duty cycle of up to 200,000 impressions per
month. |

The imageRUNNER 5000 offers a standard 100-sheet Automatic
Document Feeder that can handle mixed originals with different
lengths and widths in one job. |
|
|
|
|
The 5.1GB Hard Disk delivers Scan-Once-Print-Many
functionality, and even serves as a virtual document library and
archival site with 100 User Mailboxes that can permanently store up
to 4,000 pages of scanned or printed data. |
|
|
|
|
The imageRUNNER 5000 features a 5-way paper feeding system
consisting of two 1,500-sheet paper trays, two 550-sheet
user-adjustable cassettes and a 50-sheet Stack Bypass, for a
standard paper capacity of 4,150 sheets. With the addition of the
optional paper deck, the total paper capacity is 7,650
sheets. |

With standard Automatic Trayless Duplexing, the imageRUNNER
5000 can duplex on all supported paper sizes and paper stocks,
including 11" x 17" paper and 110 lb. Index stock. |

|
|
The imageRUNNER 5000 offers extensive document finishing
capabilities with two optional finishers, which deliver single and
multiposition stapling capability, enabling users to staple in any
corner of the document, or double staple in the margin of the
document for a book staple. Saddle-stitch, folding and 2- or 3-hole
punch functionality is also available. |

|
Two network printing options are available, both of which are
compatible with most Windows and Macintosh network environments.
One is best suited for text-intensive everyday printing needs and
light graphics while the other supports true Adobe PostScript 3
files, complex graphics and variable data output. |
|
|
|
|
Network scanning capabilities are available through Canon's
Network ScanGear TWAIN-compliant software, which is bundled with
the Network Multi-PDL Printer Kit, or through eCopy Suite, which
includes eCopy ScanStation, eCopy Desktop and eCopy ShareScan. The
eCopy solution provides plug-n-play integration with enterprise
applications including e-mail, network and Internet fax, and
document/knowledge management applications. |
