Overview
Let CTG help you add a SCSI device to your system. CTG offers a
wide variety of molded SCSI terminators for peripherals required to
meet active, passive, differential, and Forced Perfect impedance
regulations. These are the most common styles of termination used
today. CTG offers both latch-clip and thumbscrew termination for
each of the major SCSI types including SCSI-1, Fast SCSI (SCSI-2),
Ultra SCSI (SCSI-3) and more. An important note to remember when it
comes to terminators is that a passive terminator simply draws
power from the system interface card to regulate the impedance in
the line, while an active terminator uses a voltage regulator to
control the flow of data. Active styles are always preferred, and
most CTG active terminators come with a standard LED to help
monitor the activity in the line. Active negation terminators
differ from standard active in that voltage regulation is provided
over each individual line, instead of the three lines covered with
standard active termination. A differential terminator should be
used when connecting a differential SCSI device. The major benefit
gained from a differential peripheral is the maximum distance for
its link, 25m as opposed to the 6m regulation for standard SCSI
products. In case you are trying to increase the distance of your
SCSI chain and you don't have differential devices, make sure you
use CTG's Forced Perfect terminators. These FPT terminators allow
all the length advantages of differential SCSI equipment through
your standard SCSI device and are perfect for environments with
mismatched equipment and cabling. Before you connect your expensive
SCSI equipment, make sure you make the right connection with a
terminator from CTG!
