When combined with the XSR 1800 Series' powerful IP routing throughput, the integrated VPN feature set (XSR-18XX-VPN) dramatically increases the performance and functionality for enterprise branch office networking. Customers can now take advantage of unmatched VPN capabilities for site-to-site as well as remote access connectivity. Utilizing the XSR security router's embedded VPN acceleration engine, the XSR VPN security software delivers the VPN functions to meet the critical security requirements for high-speed connections that support today's bandwidth-intensive business applications. With this software option, the XSR's aggregate VPN throughput and tunnel capacity are significantly higher than competitive offerings. The XSR-18xx-VPN software delivers seamless VPN interoperability with standards-based VPN gateways, as well as Microsoft Windows XP and Windows 2000 clients. The software's flexibility is further demonstrated through its support of a rich suite of VPN protocols for both site-to-site and remote access communications. An industry-standard CLI and the Ez-IPSec remote VPN configuration tool increase customers' return on investment by lowering training, management and installation costs. Comprehensive network and device management is accomplished via SNMP management, future NetSight Atlas support, front-panel LEDs, an out-of-band management port and a recessed "restore factory default switch".
