This means that the modem handles its own processing. By comparison, Windows modems require the computer's processor and operating system to do all of the processing, which means they can quickly become incompatible with operating system upgrades. You won't sacrifice computer performance with this controller-based modem. The MultiModemZPX does not push processing requests off on your computer; the card does all of the work!
