The CACMU810-51 Campus-RS Management Unit provides management access to all the Campus-RS systems connected to the Campus-RS Star chassis. The Campus-RS Management Unit (CMU) contains an SNMP agent and is required for SNMP management. In SNMP management, each HDSL link is treated as a unique HDSL system. Each HDSL system consists of a line unit, the HDSL line, and a remote line unit or desktop unit. The Campus-RS Star system can be managed by more than one SNMP workstation at the same time. The CMU provides Telnet server capability so that a remote Telnet terminal can manage both the CMU and individual Campus-RS Line Units. When a Telnet session is initiated, the user has the same access as if logged in through the CMU console port. The CMU allows only one Telnet session to be active at a time.
