With the LASER CLASS 3170 Series Multifunction System, everyone in your workgroup has the power of a high volume Canon Laser Facsimile machine: a 17-ppm laser printer, 1200-dpi resolution, Super G3 Technology, a 30-scans-per-minute scanner, large document memory, and a 70-sheet document feeder. What's more, every machine has a convenient front-access design and a FX-6 Cartridge included. As your needs grow, you can choose from the following configurations for any of the LASER CLASS 3170 Series machines:

The LASER CLASS 3175MS, the top of the LASER CLASS 3170 Series, come with a PCL®6 Printer Board allowing for parallel printing and supports a PostScript® 3 Option for both PC and Macintosh® users. Right out of the box, it's a high volume, stand-alone Fax and a 17-ppm local laser printer to which you can add network Printing or the Dual Line Option**.
The LASER CLASS 3175 and LASER CLASS 3170 are hard-working, stand-alone facsimile systems that let you choose how you want to increase productivity. The LASER CLASS 3175 is an especially powerful facsimile for your business' high-speed, high-quality, high-volume fax needs. It prints incoming faxes ata 17 ppm with 600-dpi resolution, comes with a 70-sheet Automatic Document Feeder and FX-6 Cartridge. If you need the productivity of two fax machines in one, simply add the Super G3 Dual Line Option to the LASER CLASS 3175 and LASER CLASS 3170. The Dual Line Option gives you twice the fax power: send two faxes at one, or send and receive faxes simultaneously. Walk-up users can even select which line they want to send from.
Printer and Fax machine in one!
The LASER CLASS 3170 Series has the engine of a laser beam printer inside giving each machine true printing capability. The LASER CLASS 3175MS comes standard with a PCL®6 printer board making it a stand-alone facsimile system and a parellel printer at the same time. Both the LASER CLASS 3175 and LASER CLASS 3170 can be upgraded to become a parallel printer. Canon's exclusive top-loading FX-6 Cartridge and 12 hour battery backup is included with every machine increasing machine value.
High Performance Networkable Multifunction Systems.
The MultiSpot Network printing option coupled with the MultiSpot Document Dristribution System allows for PC Faxing, PC Scanning and Network Printing with 17 ppm printing, 30 spm scanning and 1200 dpi.

is standard on the LASER CLASS 3170 Series. 17 page per minute printing with 600-dpi resolution or 8.5 ppm printing with 1200-dpi resolution. All prints are enhanced by Automatic Image Refinement (AIR) Technology, resulting in superior image quality.
33.6 Kbps Dual Line Option
provides twice the fax line power and performance of standard facsimile machines. Send or receieve two faxes at once, or send and receive simultaneously. Both the primary and secondary fax lines operate at 33.6 Kbps.
Super G3 Technology
featuring JBIG compression significantly reduces phone line charges by transmitting data at 33.6 Kbps, 30-scan-per-minute document scanning or 1.3 seconds per page transmission saves time and money while increasing fax productivity. Quick On-line Transmission further speeds faxing productivity by intiating the fax process and beginning document transmission as soon as the first original has been scanned.
Productive Document Feeding
via the 70-sheet Automatic document Feeder. The Dual Access feature enhances fax productivity by allowing for transmission reservation during reception and memory transmission, and memory reception and transmission while the fax is in use as a convenience copier.
High Volume Paper Capacities
The LASER CLASS 3175MS and LASER CLASS 3175 come standard with the maximum paper supply: 1,100 sheets, two 500-sheet front-loading letter/legal cassettes and a 100-sheet multi-purpose tray. The LASER CLASS 3170 offers a 600-sheet total paper supply, 500-sheet letter/legal adjustable cassette and a 100-sheet multi-purpose tray, with the option of an additional 500 sheet cassette. The multi-purpose tray allows for various paper sizes and types.

of document memory standard on the LASER CLASS 3175MS and LASER CLASS 3175. The LASER CLASS 3170 is equipped with up to 192 pages* of standard memory. All three machines may be upgraded to a total of 704 pages* of memory.
